Revelation:

Who Goes Into The Millennial Kingdom from the Tribulation?

The people in the millennial kingdom will be people with natural bodies. They engage in the normal activities that we do today, and there will still be death. These are not people with immortal bodies. There are only two places these people can come from. Those who survived the tribulation and go on into the millennial kingdom, and those who are born during the millennial kingdom.

Isaiah 65
20 In her, a nursing infant will no longer live only a few days,
or an old man not live out his days.
Indeed, the youth will die at a hundred years,
and the one who misses a hundred years will be cursed.
21 People will build houses and live in them; they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
22 They will not build and others live in them; they will not plant and others eat.
For My people’s lives will be like the lifetime of a tree.
My chosen ones will fully enjoy the work of their hands.

Revelation 19
11 Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True, and He judges and makes war in righteousness. 12 His eyes were like a fiery flame, and many crowns were on His head. He had a name written that no one knows except Himself. 13 He wore a robe stained with blood, and His name is the Word of God. 14 The armies that were in heaven followed Him on white horses, wearing pure white linen. 15A sharp sword came from His mouth, so that He might strike the nations with it. He will shepherd them with an iron scepter. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty. 16And He has a name written on His robe and on His thigh: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

17Then I saw an angel standing on the sun, and he cried out in a loud voice, saying to all the birds flying high overhead, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18so that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of commanders, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of their riders, and the flesh of everyone, both free and slave, small and great.”

19Then I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and against His army. 20But the beast was taken prisoner, and along with him the false prophet, who had performed the signs in his presence. He deceived those who accepted the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image with these signs. Both of them were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. 21The rest were killed with the sword that came from the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds were filled with their flesh.

Notes – the “sharp sword” will be used against the nations (v15)
the birds will eat the flesh of all types of people, both soldiers and non-soldiers (v18)
the rest were killed with the sword (v21) and the birds ate their bodies. Who are the “rest?” The armies opposing Christ.

OLD TESTAMENT

The very first prophecy in the Bible about the tribulation describes who will be saved... those who repent during the tribulation. They “return to the LORD... and obey Him” – they are believers.

Deuteronomy 4:30–31
30When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, you will return to the Lord your God in later days and obey Him. 31He will not leave you, destroy you, or forget the covenant with your fathers that He swore to them by oath, because the Lord your God is a compassionate God.

Zachariah gives more details about Israel. Two-thirds of Israel will perish, but one-third will survive the tribulation and call on the name of the Lord (they'll all be believers, all others perish):

Zechariah 13
8 “It will come about in all the land,”
Declares the Lord, “That two parts in it will be cut off and perish; but the third will be left in it.
9 “And I will bring the third part through the fire,
Refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested.
They will call on My name, and I will answer them;
I will say, ‘They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’”

Zechariah 14 also tells us that only believers go into the millennial kingdom.

Zechariah 14
1 A day of the Lord is coming when your plunder will be divided in your presence. 2 I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle. The city will be captured, the houses looted, and the women raped. Half the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be removed from the city.
3 Then the Lord will go out to fight against those nations as He fights on a day of battle.
9 On that day Yahweh will become King over all the earth—Yahweh alone, and His name alone.
12 This will be the plague the Lord strikes all the peoples with, who have warred against Jerusalem: their flesh will rot while they stand on their feet, their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongues will rot in their mouths. 13 On that day a great panic from the Lord will be among them, so that each will seize the hand of another, and the hand of one will rise against the other.

Notes – it is God who gathers the nations who come against Jerusalem (v2) – bringing God's wrath
against all remaining sinners.
only Yahweh's name alone... no one will be left to call on any other name (v9)
verses 12 & 13 describe how the non-believers will die.

While in Zechariah 14 we should look at 14:16-19
16Then it will come about that any who are left of all the nations that went against Jerusalem will go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Booths. 17And it will be that whichever of the families of the earth does not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, there will be no rain on them. 18If the family of Egypt does not go up or enter, then no rain will fall on them; it will be the plague with which the Lord smites the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths. 19This will be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Booths. The above speaks of unbelievers living during the millennium. If unbelievers do not enter the millennium, where do they come from? During the millennium people will have children. They will inherit a sin nature from Adam, and some will not trust Jesus... they will be unbelievers. By the end of the millennium, even under the rule of Christ, there will be many unbelievers, all born during the time of the millennium. (No where does the above verse say these unbelievers were present at the beginning of the millennium.)

For example, the above says that Egypt might not believe at some point in the millennium. But Isaiah 19:21 indicates that Egypt does believe, at least at the beginning:

Thus the Lord will make Himself known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the Lord in that day. They will even worship with sacrifice and offering, and will make a vow to the Lord and perform it.

Notes – notice in Zechariah 14:16 that at first “ALL who are left” after the destruction of the armies worship the Lord.

Both Noah and Lot are types that illustrate what will happen during the end times:

Jesus compared the destruction by the flood to the destruction at the end. He also compared the destruction of Sodom to the end-time destruction.

Luke 17:29: But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them ALL.

Luke 17:27b: [Noah] entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them ALL.

In Zephania 3:8
God describes what He is going to do in the tribulation. Then in verse 9 He describes the survivors. Again ALL of them call on the name of the Lord.

For then I will give to the peoples purified lips,
That all of them may call on the name of the Lord,
To serve Him shoulder to shoulder.

Malachi 4:1
, in talking about the Day of the Lord (the end of the tribulation), describes ALL of the proud and wicked as being destroyed. Only believers will be left.

For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every evildoer will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them ablaze,” says the Lord of hosts, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch.

NEW TESTAMENT

Matthew 13:41 – (wheat and the tares) angels are sent to gather out of his kingdom ALL who are stumbling blocks or are lawless. Thus non-believers are excluded from the millennial kingdom.

Matthew 25:12 – if Jesus does not know you, you are excluded from the kingdom.

Matthew 25:30 – those who are a “worthless” servant will be thrown into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 25:31-46 – the judgment of the sheep and the goats. Christ will judge the unrighteous Gentiles (goats), and they will be cast into the lake of fire for eternal punishment (25:46). No unbelieving Gentile will survive to live on into the millennial kingdom. The righteous Gentiles, or sheep, will live and go into the millennial kingdom.

2 Thessalonians 1:7b–8; 2:12 – When the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ ... That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
